Dear Hills, be nice

I somehow signed up to run another half marathon on the 25th of August, how I agree to these things really stumps me, it’s like I hate myself really, it’s like I don’t want to be happy, it’s also like I am overly dramatic 😉

So, I have been slacking a bit (story of my life) and time is ticking away as time does and I need to get my butt into gear if I have ANY hope of doing this marathon and not dying half way through.  So, I am back to training….. like a Kenyan.

This is what I have planned:

Week One: 

3 easy runs 4/5 kms in length

Hill workout:  Must find hill, must run up and down it 4 to 6 times, preferably at speed on the uphill and slowly on the downhill

(I F**KING HATE HILLS, SO MUCH! WHO INVENTED HILLS? WHY? I HATE YOU!)

Week Two: 

Two Easy runs 4 / 5kms

Warm up jog.  Run 5 mins at race pace, slow for 5 minutes speed up to race pace again. Repeat 3 times

Week Three:

Two Easy runs 5/6 kms

Hill workout same as week one

(I HATE HILLS THE MOST OUT OF ANY LANDSCAPE OPTION IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD! STUPID HILLS, I F**KING HATE YOU)

Week Four:

Two easy runs 6 / 7kms

Week two speed work out

 

I will also be doing my beloved spin classes between all of this – yeah, I hate sleeping, I also hate my life. Yay for being fit! *Clicks fingers*
