I am going Paleo

Paleo seems to be the “buzz” word for 2013 in the world of fitness and healthy lifestyles, everyone I know seems to have tried it or know of someone who is doing it and everyone seems to be having amazing results – so I am jumping on the band wagon too

Eating “Paleo” or going on a “Paleolithic Diet” which basically means eating like a cave man – Cave men ate meat and nuts and general food that they could “hunt and gather” (hence it being called The Cave Man diet”


The cave men did not pull into McDonalds on the way home from a hard days hunting and order a McFixer Meal, upsize, they also did not stop at Woolies on the way home a grab a packet of chuckles and a smoothie (although I am sure if those things were around 2.5 million years ago, they totally would have – I mean who can resist Chuckles?)

Cut a long story short, I am going Paleo, I am joining the craze and I hope to look like Heidi Klum in 2 to 3 months because of this… Sounds achieveable, right?

Cool Cave, Man!

I will obviously be blogging about the whole thing and my journey and what not and I hope you will pop in, read all about it and give me any tips or tricks you may have or share your results with me…

This is the food stuffs I will be allowed for the next few months:


  • Beef (preferably Grass fed – although if I can find some Chocolate fed Cattle I am going to eat their sweet sweet meat)
  • Fish / Seafood
  • Fresh fruit and vegetables of any kind
  • Eggs
  • Nuts and seeds
  • Healthy Oils (Olive oil, Walnut oil and the likes)


  • Cereal grains
  • Legumes (not sure wtf a legume is but I know peanuts fall into this category)
  • Dairy
  • Refined sugars
  • Potatoes
  • Processed Foods
  • Salt
  • Refined oils
